Project Perseus Introduction
Dear reader,
Thank you for visiting the Project Perseus blog. I hope that the topics I write about bring you as much joy as they do for me. The world is a wonderful place...if you know where to look. My goal is to help readers reach that place of finding what's wonderful, beautiful, and captivating in this world by giving you a unique perspective and allowing you to take an innocent look at this universe's beauty.
But before I begin, I should address some important questions you undoubtedly have:
Who are you?
My name is Nathaniel Comstock Moll. I am a current student in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and physics. Outside of the technical aspect of my studies I enjoy writing novels, composing original pieces for the piano, doing some amateur backyard astronomy (sometimes volunteering at my school's local observatory), and now apparently writing blog posts.
Essentially, I love to learn and to stay curious; two aspects that have carried me further than I ever could have hoped. It's an incomprehensible thing that we can understand the universe around us and even that the universe can be understood. Don't take what I just said lightly, but appreciate the wonders of our world.
What do you write about?
I write about a plethora of different subjects, pretty much anything I find interesting, both of a technical and a non-technical nature. I plan to write about biochemistry and health, physics, astronomy and space, writing, music, and other subjects...oh and of course Project Perseus! If any of these things are fascinating to you, I would encourage to stick around and read!
That's fine but....what in the world is Project Perseus?
I am so glad you asked! Project Perseus is my personal educational journey into the realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The goal is for me to share everything I learn along the way, from literally knowing nothing about the subject, to hopefully building my own chatbot/neural network which I will affectionately name Perseus. (In true AI-fashion since they all must be named after some Greek mythological character of some sort).
So yes, in summary, if you think you'd enjoy learning about AI and machine learning with me as I learn it, then I would encourage you to follow my blog. In addition to Project Perseus itself, I would also like to invite you to read posts about the other subjects I mentioned above. I will do my very best to keep it fresh and interesting!
Now with that, I formally welcome you to Project Perseus!
Where thoughts orbit stars and dreams power suns...
